![]() Hebrews 1:7 says God “maketh his angels spirits.” These mighty heavenly beings were created by the Almighty God to serve Him and to help the children of God. Who are the children of God?“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons [children] of God.” (Romans 8:14) Can I pray to angels and receive help? No, God is sovereign. By his power he governs the entire universe. And the heavenly hosts only obey His command. When you need ministering angels or warring angels to assist you, the Bible declares, “He will give his angels [especial] charge over you, to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service]. (Psalm 91:11) Do Satan and his imps ever try to appear as angels of God?Yes, II Corinthians 11:14 tells us that Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” The devil is an Arch Deceiver and he will come in any shape, form, or fashion to win your confidence and approval in order to destroy you. Remember always, the angels of God will never do or say anything that is contrary to God’s will, God’s way, and God’s Word. How do angels feel when they hear a sinner repent?Jesus said, “There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” (Luke 15:10) So, you can imagine how they feel when there is more than one at the same time! Why does God have limited information about angels in the Bible?Jesus said, “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” (Matthew 4:10) Angels are ministering spirits. They are not “gods” nor are they worthy of praise, adoration or any additional recognition beyond what God deems necessary. Therefore, all the information that we truly need about angelic beings is in the Bible. Should we seek other avenues of finding out about angels? The Bible is the source from which we must gather our information on the subject of angels. Understand much of what goes on in the name of angels in the world is not Scriptural, most of it is full of hype and gimmicks. The bottom line is that all of your experiences, beliefs, and opinions regarding angelic beings must always line up with the Word of God. Do angels ever escort our relatives or friends back from the dead to watch over us or to give us an important message?Ecclesiastes 9:5 tells us, “The dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.” So, the dead are not coming back to do anything for you at all. If God has something important to tell you He will either speak to your spirit, speak through his Word, or He will have a living person deliver the message to you. Do angels ever discuss God, if so what do they say?In Isaiah 6:3, “One cried unto another and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.” And forevermore “Let all the angels of God worship Him.” (Hebrews 1:6)©2006 |
